Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis
No good deed goes unpunished. When Jane Larson—a hot-shot litigator for a large firm in New York City—helps out a friend, she is sucked into the unfamiliar world of divorce and child support.

Jane's discovery of the deadbeat dad’s hidden assets soon unravels a web of lies, drugs, and murder that keeps getting more dangerous.

Soon, Jane is involved in a high stakes race to recover a missing suitcase of cash and catch the murderer before she becomes the next victim. - Goodreads

My Thoughts
I'm going to be completely honest, when I first started reading this novel, I was not so thrilled about it. I had to put it down for a few days because I just couldn't get into it. This might've been because I was going through a terrible reading slump and couldn't get myself to read 2 pages, let alone a whole novel.

But after picking it back up in a few days, I instantly got sucked into the story. I don't read a lot of crime or mystery books, but Weave a Murderous Web has introduced me to a genre I want to explore. This story was not at all what I expected. The plot takes the reader in so many different directions and gives so many options as to who the killer is. It reminds me a lot of Pretty Little Liars because you have so much information right in front of you, yet you know nothing. It's frustrating yet thrilling.

The characters in this novel were fairly developed, Jane being my favorite. From the moment I was introduced to her character, I already developed a liking for her. She's witty and always had snark comebacks. Although they were times where I wasn't too fond of how she treated others, I still enjoyed her as a main character. Plus her being a litigator was pretty sick.

My only critic for this book would be that although it has a lot of twists and turns, I did get confused a good bit. The novel is pretty short in length, so sometimes I felt as if the plot was moving too fast and in multiple directions that I couldn't keep up with.

What started as a simple deed to help a friend turned into a suspenseful murder mystery. I enjoyed this book nonetheless and would recommend it if you're in the need of a short, fast paced novel with a dash of suspense.

My Rating
3.5 OUT OF 5 STARS

Until next time,
